The 12th
International Show of Water Equipment, Technologies and Services “SIEE POLLUTEC
2016" opened on Monday February 1st in
Algiers with the participation of 250 firms, half of them are foreign.
The
trade show has been inaugurated by Minister of Water Resources and Environment
Abdelwahab Nouri, in the presence of Minister of Finance, Abderrahmane
Benkhalfa and Post and ICT Minister Iman Houda Feraoun.
Producers, distributors of equipment and service providers in
the sectors of water and waste water treatment, distribution of water,
treatment of industrial pollution, analysis and control of water quality are
exhibiting at the SIEE POLLUTEC 2016 until February 4th.
Besides
Algeria, 17 countries are present in the show, which sees the return of India,
Tunisia and Denmark who were absent in previous editions.
For
this year’s edition, the show has expanded to the environment in response to
the needs of the domestic market, especially with the emergence of a waste
water management sector.
In
addition to the agencies under the Ministry such as the National Commissioner
of Coastline and the National Agency of Climate Change, the show receives 30
exhibitors activating in the field of the environment.
Minister
Nouri said that this show represents an opportunity to assess the level of
national progress in terms of recourses and environment.
"We
cannot encourage the national economy if we continue to import equipment that
we can manufacture locally," he stressed.
This
event is to enable national operators to discover the latest innovations in the
field of water equipment production and manufacturing.
