ALGIERS-Minister of Post and
Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) Imane Houda Feraoun Wednesday
announced the official launch of 4G in the first half of 2016.
"The official launch of 4G is scheduled for the first half of
2016," said the minister in a statement to the press on the sidelines of
the ceremony of postmark stamp "40 years of space telecommunications"
organized by Algérie Télécom Satellite .
In response to a question on the
"delay" in the use of GPS (geographical satellite location) including
in telephone, Feraoun said the study of the project reached an "advanced
level", without setting a date to its launched.
Referring to Algeria's position in
space telecommunications, the minister hailed the work accomplished since

"Algeria can now meet the challenge of new technologies, as our
